In a large frying pan over medium heat, warm the olive oil. Add the garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Add the tomatoes and their juice, bring to a simmer, and season with salt, pepper, and oregano. Cook, crushing the tomatoes with the back of a wooden spoon and stirring occasionally, until thick and rich, 20-25 minutes. Remove from the heat and stir in the basil. Buon appetito ! |
